Here at Align, our purpose is simple. We exist to serve, support, encourage and guide people affected by cancer through safe and effective physical activity.
"One positive side effect I had not counted on was a raising of my mood. My moments of post-cancer depression are now far less frequent or severe. Staying happy is another good reason for me getting out and getting fit." - Richard, 37
After being diagnosed with cancer you may feel confused, anxious or even angry. You've just been given some news that turns your whole life upside down and with a lot to process, many unanswered questions and most likely an overwhelming amount of uncertainty, it's easy to feel like you're losing control.
These feelings are completely normal. So what can you do?
What if someone told you there was something you could do to take back control, feel empowered and positively impactwhat happens in your life after your diagnosis? Something that experts are referring to as a "wonder-drug".
"If the effects of exercise could be encapsulated in a pill, it would be prescribed to every cancer patient worldwide and viewed as a major breakthrough in cancer treatment. If we had a pill calledexercise it would be demanded by cancer patients, prescribed by every cancer specialist, and subsidised by government." - Dr. Prue Cornie
